Anvil Off-Road Winch Accessory Kit Offers Best 4×4 Recovery Products

When it comes to wheelin’ in the wild, sometimes all you can do is hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.
From slippery embankments and miscalculated approach angles, to trail runs down knee-deep quagmires and silty riverbeds, it’s all just one big trap lying in wait for you and your 4×4.

While the thought of having the “Swiss Army Knife” of off-road accessories at your disposal may sound like a solid plan in theory, the act of lugging around a ton of extra gear is both cumbersome, and oftentimes, completely unnecessary.

Off-Road Winch Accessory Kit Is More Than Just a Bag of Gear & Goodies.

Anvil Off-Road’s mindset is that when the chips are down, and you have to haul yourself out of a bind, sticking with the basics, and relying upon quality gear is always your best bet. Remember, you can always add to a kit in order to have a tailormade recovery setup on hand, but you’ve got to start somewhere. Which is precisely why this simple kit is so significant.

Here Are A Few Core Product Details and Trail Tips Straight From Anvil Off-Road.

  • This kit’s ¾″ D-ring (also referred to as a “clevis,” or a “shackle”) is a great way to connect rigging equipment, especially when closed eyelets are your only mounting option. While some people claim that the pin of a D-ring does not need to be torqued past finger-tight in order to support a full load rating, Anvil Off-Road recommends tightening by hand until it stops, and then backing it off a half turn. This helps reduce the risk of over-tightening under load, and in turn, reduces the need for you to loosen the D-ring with tools afterwards.
  • The cables rolled-up inside your winch are notorious for cutting into anything that gets in their way when under load. “Tree Saver” recovery strap get their name because they not only allow you to safely use a tree as an anchor, but they also negate the damage commonly inflicted by winch cables.
  • A snatch block both changes the winch’s direction of pull, and doubles the pulling power of the winch. Snatch blocks typically consist of two steel brackets that open like scissors, with the pulley being stuffed in the middle. You can rig one up by opening the side brackets so that they are apart from one another, and then pass the cable between them, thus allowing the pulley to hold the cable. Once the two halves are closed, you can then secure the snatch block to an anchor by passing a D-ring through the holes in the side brackets.
  • Gloves are included in Anvil Off-Road’s Winch Accessory Kit for good reason. Winch cables come loaded with burrs and stray wire, so always break-out the gloves before beginning a recovery effort.
