Stretched Suzuki Jimny Modified Into a 5-Door Mini Monster Truck

Suzuki Jimny

The 2022 Tokyo Auto salon featured many exciting custom off-roaders. At the popular custom car event, students of Nihon Automobile College unveiled a five-door version of the Suzuki Jimny, which was transformed into a compact amateur built 4×4 truck. The Jimny is a Japanese built compact 4×4 with capable off-road prowess. Not available in the U.S. The Jimny’s closest cousin would be known as the Suzuki Samurai.

For the uninitiated, the current generation of Suzuki Jimny is only available in two-door variants. The project kicked off when the Professor of Nihon Automobile College’s Customization department assigned this daunting customization project to the students. The team kicked off the build by stretching the roof and the body of the two-door Jimny behind its B pillar.

Impressively enough, the team managed to complete the build in less than three months. This Suzuki Jimny mini monster appears to havre been frankensteined together, and lifted with an abhorrent body spacer to fit the oversized tires. Furthermore, we also find a large LED bar that sits atop the windshield. The tiny off-roader with its 6-inch body lift can now accommodates the Toyo Tires Open Country M/Ts and now rides on a set of 17-inch steel wheels.

Furthermore, the team of students also turbocharged the powerplant and installed new blow-off valves. The 1.5-liter motor now churns out 125 HP of power and around 132 lb-ft of torque. Wider fenders and off-road bumpers complete the ensemble.

If you don’t want to undertake such a demanding and elaborate build, then Suzuki’s got you. The Japanese automaker will soon introduce the Suzuki Jimny Long, and the 5-door SUV gets a wheelbase 11.8 inches longer than the two-door version and will cost an additional $3000 approximately.
